There are many questions that each person has about joining staff. Below are the questions and answers of some of the most frequently asked questions. If you do not find your question below please contact us at 937-352-1000 or email AIA Application Services.
How is AIA funded?
All of our full-time staff members are required to raise and maintain their own financial support. These funds pay the staff member’s salary and benefits.
How do I know where I will be assigned to work?
We strive to match people's skills with Athlete's in Action's existing needs. It is our hope that our staff are called to the cause (advancing the message of Christ), trusting that God will work through AIA and the applicant to place staff in-line with individual interests and AIA needs.
How long does the application process take?
Expect the application process to take about two months, from the time we receive an application until the applicant receives his/her final decision. Therefore, applicants should apply at least three months prior to the desired training dates. For more details see our Application Time Line. What are the application deadlines?
- Winter New Staff Training: October 1st
- Summer New Staff Training: March 1st
- Spring Mid-Career Training: February 1st
- Fall Mid-Career Training: June 1st
What materials need to be turned in by the application deadline?
The deadline means that we must receive the Staff Application Packet, which includes the required documents to begin the application process with Athletes in Action by the deadline date.
Why is the application deadline 3 months prior to the start of New Staff Training?
It takes about 4 weeks to compile all of the documents needed for a complete staff application and the evaluation process of a completed staff application takes a minimum of 3-4 weeks. Pre-registration for New Staff Training is six weeks prior to the start of the training. We have set this timeline so we are able to give you a decision by the time pre-registration for New Staff Training begins.
What happens if I have applied for a specific New Staff Training but I have not received my staff acceptance before the registration for New Staff Training is closed?
If a deadline is missed, we will continue to process the application for the next New Staff Training.
What are the full-time staff training requirements?
Full-time staff must complete three training segments that are offered in a five week training every winter and summer. These segments are New Staff Training (NST), Ministry Partner Development (MPD), and School of Leadership (SOL).
- During a week long New Staff Training (NST) time new staff learn about the past, present, and future of Campus Crusade for Christ. They will meet some of the ministry's leadership and learn about our financial policies.
- Ministry Partner Development (MPD) is two weeks of training that equips new staff to develop their financial support team.
- The School of Leadership (SOL) is three weeks of in-depth biblical training taught by seminary professors and Campus Crusade for Christ staff with seminary degrees. These classes will help new staff accurately handle the Word.
