Ministry Position: Network Administrators
You will work with Windows 2003 and Windows XP as you help us develop and manage a network that takes advantage of the latest in technical communication. You will perform analysis of network user needs, feasibility of requests and contribute to design of network architecture, integration, and installation. You will install and maintain local area network hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, network nodes, terminals, and wiring. You will also research, analyze, test, configure and recommend new user application software or network utility software. You will assist technicians with replacement of user hardware as related to connectivity issues such as network cards and cabling.
Also needed will be the evaluating of local area network hardware and software requirements and capabilities followed by making recommendations. You will monitor and maintain network stability. You will also communicate and coordinate network schedule, backups, and downtime to users. You will coordinate third-party maintenance for network hardware, software, and telecommunication services. You will also be expected to prepare and maintain documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.
Ministry Position: Web Designer
AIA has increased awareness of the Web as a major tool in enabling the ministry to accelerate communication, evangelism, and training throughout the world. Therefore, laborers are needed to effectively continue this acceleration. You will consult with customers to obtain and develop concept and content information, including strategic focus, overall purpose of content and design, target audience, etc. You will utilize various graphical software tools and technologies to transform graphical concepts into specific Web pages; this will create dynamic Web sites for ministry and staff. You will also integrate video, animation, still images, text, and audio into the graphical design of Web pages. You will meet with design and technical staff on projects, technical specifications, and deadlines, as well as quality assurance staff to correct performance problems. You will critique other designs and solicit feedback on Web pages produced. You will make changes to the Web site/ pages based on feedback from management and users.
Ministry Position: Database Administrator
You will assist in organizing AIA’s accelerating communication as the latest in technology is used in the process. You will design logical and physical databases. You will review descriptions of changes to database design in order to understand how those changes affect the physical databases (how data is stored in terms of physical characteristics such as location, amount of space, and access method). You will also modify database programs to increase processing performance; this is referred to as performance tuning.
You will interact and work with a programming team as they design applications to run effectively. You will train programmers and analysts on the use of the database as well as answer related questions. You will analyze and optimize SQL configurations, set SQL parameters to optimal values in order to maximize database performance, and determine appropriate locations for all SQL files. You will also install and configure Microsoft OS to best fit with SQL. You will determine and implement optimal hardware configuration for the databases of critical ministry-wide information systems.
You will recommend purchase of appropriate hardware, troubleshoot problems with that hardware, and set-up client software to connect to the SQL. This will involve the use of SQL software and designing.
